About Me
I'm a thirty-year-old lampwork bead artisan. Huh, that sounds kind of
boring when I just say it like that, doesn't it? I live with my
boyfriend and a very surly cat, I visit my grandma a lot, and I drink a
lot of coffee. There's nothing I like more than melting glass and
making beads-good thing it's my job, eh?
About My Beads
All my beads are kiln annealed,
cleaned, and ready to use. Mostly I use 1/16" mandrels, though I do use
3/32" mandrels for most of my focal beads. I tend to use a variety of
glasses-German, Italian, Czech, and Bullseye for the most part.
Sometimes I make beads out of stained glass because it looks so swirly
and pretty.
So, How Did You Get Into This, Anyway?
I was buying a lot of lampwork
beads on eBay. I happened to notice that one of my favourite sellers
taught classes in bead making. I took her class, telling myself that if
I liked it, I would go all the way and set up a studio. If I didn't
like it, I would just go back to buying beads on eBay. Turned out I
really, really liked it.
